What is Alternate Energy?

A source of energy aside from fossil fuels is called an alternate energy. But for it to be called such, it must not have the negative consequences of using fossil fuels. A big part of the energy utilized by the world today comes from this source. However, the results of using fossil fuels can be very harmful. Burning them can result to high carbon dioxide emissions, which leads to global warming.
